Wood is just this amazing material.... this is just a curl that came off the chisel when I was scalloping the braces... but look how beautiful it is. Almost like a nautilus shell or something.

Hi Karen, I'm a friend of Kelly's and she's told me about your blog. it's interesting to watch the process of making a guitar. My 14 year old son is teaching himself how to play. :) Anyway, that curl looks like a bracelet or a ring! A little shellac to strengthen and it would be adorable!
That really is a beautiful thing. I love that it was just a chiseling by product. Thank you for photographing it! What an eye treat.
