Flush Cutting and End Wedge






Now that the guitar bodies have been boxed up, we had to take all of the overlapping excess material off. We did this using a router (above), which is a powerful tool, and a bit scary to use. You notice that we are all wearing hearing protection and goggles. They are very safety conscious around here.
Anyway, after flush cutting the sides, we used a similar router with a template to rout a cavity for the end wedge, which is really just an aesthetic thing to hide the seam. So, some black-white-black purfling lines the outside of the wedge, which is a piece of maple like the sides... in fact, it's cut from leftover scraps of the same pieces of wood.
