Even these tiny side braces are given special treatment... made from mahogany to match the kerfing and end/tail blocks, they start as a handful of small sticks, are lovingly cut to fit and shaped, and become part of the bracing structure, helping to keep the sides from twisting and in general, supporting the strength of the overall box.
