Kerfing

This step involves gluing a strip of kerfed wood (or "kerfing") around the rim, at the top edge and back edge. This helps to stiffen the rim, and (perhaps more importantly) creates a wider gluing surface for attaching the top and the back. Before doing that, this will go back onto the parabolic sander to make sure that the proper radius is sanded into the top edge and back edge.

Kerf, perfling -- clearly I should be reading your blog before I launch into trying to learn scrabble, cause these are some great obscure words.

clamps clamps clamps -- seen pictures like this before.
